faith vs fear in giving and serving
Our friend Rachel recently posted the following spot-on comment about the agenda-driven evangelical response to the AIDS crisis:

One of the comments to the post talked about the Talmud’s take on charity, aka Tzedakah, and the ranking system for the different levels of charity. I found a concise summary here:

So, last Sunday Alexis and I visited a small local church in Belchertown - it was quite a neat experience! It was certainly different from the Northampton church we currently attend - it was much smaller, both physically and in number of people, and it had a different feel to the order of service.
