Happy March!
Wow, the year is flying by…
The other day Alexis and I were doing homework for this missions course we are taking, and I stumbled across a neat verse in Zechariah 8:
Thus says the Lord of hosts, “It will yet be that peoples will come, even the inhabitants of many cities. The inhabitants of one will go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts; I will also go.’ So many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.”
I thought this was really neat, because of the imagery of people from one city going to people in another city and encouraging them to “go at once” to pray, and pray in a way evocative of a tangible meeting with God. This resonates along the lines of the prayer encouragement mission I’ve been envisioning. This is similar also to thoughts my friend Philip is fleshing out about praying with neighbors in the community.
But wait, there’s more!
